Jörg Roßkopf becomes coach of the national men's team

13.01.10 Mr. Tischtennis, Jörg Roßkopf, will become DTTB coach for Timo Boll's team as successor of the current national coach Richard Prause, who will leave to coach Austria. "The position of national team coach of the DTTB has come earlier than expected, but I am looking forward to this new job very much. One is not asked very often to become national coach and for me it's a huge challenge. Germany has an effective team. As national coach I will certainly not change everything as ‚Richie' and I have the same training philosophy and I would have liked to continue the team work. In 2012 we have two major world events, the team WC in Dortmund and the Olympic Games and my goal is to reduce the gap between ourselves and the Chinese, and also to keep nations like South Korea and Japan at bay."

Rossi's everyday work place will be at the federal base in Frankfurt, where he will look after promising talents such as Patrick Franziska. It is not yet decided who will assist him. The only thing that is certain is that he will work mainly in the table tennis centre in Düsseldorf.

JOOLA who will still be a close and reliable partner of Jörg is very pleased that the German table tennis sports can still benefit from his experience and expertise in the future.
